We Will Be Heard

One voice is seldom heard but too many voices are hard to hear

All voices should be heard

"We Will Be Heard" is a global initiative led by one father's determination to make his voice heard. While a single voice may often go unnoticed, the power of many voices is undeniable. Our mission is to ensure that all voices are heard. This endeavor began to support Mark in his efforts to reunite with his American/Chinese daughter and to present his petition before the Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights (OHCHR) at the United Nations.

In solidarity, we are uniting our voices to advocate for a bi-annual panel of worldwide experts on "Parental Alienation" to be convened both in New York City and Geneva, Switzerland. By directing global attention to this pervasive issue affecting societies worldwide, we aim to bring forth current knowledge, solutions, and countries' responses to what many consider an epidemic. Throughout history, caring and intelligent individuals have addressed such challenges, and we continue this tradition.

This mental illness, pathology strikes at the foundations of all societies, cultures

This mental health issue and pathology strike at the foundations of all societies and cultures. Notably, the International Classification of Diseases, Eleventh Edition (ICD-11), recently included the term "Parental Alienation" as an index term which was later removed. While it is not a separate diagnosis, it serves as a synonym for caregiver-child relationship problems. The ICD-11 recognized the significance of both "parental alienation" and "parental estrangement." It was later removed causing confusion.

Contrastingly, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), does not reference the term "Parental Alienation" but includes V995.51 for Child Psychological Abuse. With 100 countries reportedly using ICD 10-11 and the DSM-5 primarily used in North America and select regions, it becomes crucial to address the universal issues faced by parents and children, transcending geographical boundaries.

Despite the universality of these challenges, even experts' voices often conflict, causing confusion and perpetuating the problems. "We Will Be Heard" seeks to change this narrative. Join our voices as we call for bi-annual panels of world experts to shed light on this prevalent issue, presenting a global perspective and focusing on solutions.

The time for action is now. Our children and families cannot endure the harm caused by troubled parents, judiciary systems, and mental health responses any longer. "We Will Be Heard" is a rallying cry, urging you to join your voice to this important cause.
